Underpinning
Strengthening the ground beneath existing foundations to help manage settlement and support your structure.

Overview
How it works.
Our underpinning work uses micro-fine grout injection. A fine cement-based grout is pumped into the ground beneath existing foundations. In suitable soils, it spreads between the soil particles and hardens, creating a stronger, more stable mass beneath your structure.
Grout can often be injected through small access points, reducing the need for extensive excavation. Some drilling, removal of paving or localised digging may still be required, depending on access and the treatment area.
We work on residential, commercial and civil projects across Perth, and every treatment we propose is considered around the conditions on your site.

Good to know
Before you start.
- 01
It stabilises, it doesn't lift
Our grout injection work focuses on stabilising the ground and providing additional support. It does not return a structure to its original position.
- 02
Best suited to sandy soils
Grout injection generally works best in sandy, granular soils that allow the grout to flow between the particles. Clay, silt and other low-permeability materials can restrict its spread, so suitability is considered for each site.
- 03
Existing cracks are a separate repair
Grout injection can help address ground movement contributing to cracking, where the treatment is suitable. Existing cracks generally require separate repairs.
- 04
When an engineer is needed
Where a building is moving, an engineer may need to assess the problem and specify the treatment. Our site observations do not replace an engineering assessment.
