Grout injection hose and lance set up alongside a cracked rendered wall
Grout injection beside a cracked wall

Overview

How it works.

Underground voids and cavities can be difficult to reach without major excavation. Grout is pumped into the space and hardens in place, filling it and helping to stabilise the area.

Grout can often be injected through small access points, reducing the need for extensive excavation. Some drilling, removal of paving or localised digging may still be required, depending on access and the treatment area.

Where the ground around a void has also been affected, it can be treated as part of the same works. See sinkhole remediation.

Used for

  • Filling difficult-to-access underground spaces
  • Filling cavities with grout
  • Treating areas affected by underground voids

Good to know

Before you start.

  • 01

    Find the cause

Long-term performance depends on the cause of the original problem. Issues such as leaking pipes or poor drainage may need to be addressed as well.

  • 02

    Small access points

Grout can often be placed through small access points. Some drilling or removal of paving may still be required, depending on access and the treatment area.

  • 03

    Timing depends on the void

How long the work takes depends on the size and depth of the treatment area, access, ground conditions and the amount of grout required.

  • 04

    Free, no-obligation quotes

Pricing depends on the treatment dimensions, site access, ground conditions and project requirements. Photos and plans help us understand the work involved.
